BY-LAWS OF THE

INTERNATIONAL THERMOGRAPHIC SOCIETY


ARTICLE I

NAME

The name of this organization is the International Thermographic Society, herein after referred to as I.T.S.


ARTICLE II

OBJECTIVES

  1. To establish, promote, and promulgate a set of standards, training, and procedures for technicians and doctors, to insure uniformity of thermographic applications.
  2. To protect in every way not contrary to law the science and art of thermography, and the professional welfare of the members of I.T.S.
  3. To maintain the standards of education, ethics, and professional competency necessary for doctors and technicians to meet the state of the art of thermography.
  4. To establish and maintain desirable inter-professional relationships and channels of communication with other organizations and groups.
  5. To promote and facilitate the dissemination of new information in the field of thermography.
  6. To inform the general public of the results and implications of current research in thermography.
  7. To do all things necessary and proper in the interests of thermography and the I.T.S. membership in carrying out the foregoing purposes.

ARTICLE III

MEMBERSHIP

  1. QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Any health care professional, scientist, technician or researcher in the United States or abroad who actively engages in thermographic research and those who have special interest in the clinical application of thermography
  2. APPLICATION
    1. Applications for membership are made on forms provided by the I.T.S.
    2. The I.T.S. Board or designated membership committee approves all applications before membership is granted.
    3. Applications for membership shall be accompanied by one year dues and the application fees. (Dues are refundable if the application is denied.)
  3. CANCELLATION
    1. The I.T.S. reserves the right to cancel all rights of membership by sending a thirty day notice of intent to cancel membership and the reason thereof by certified mail.
    2. Non-payment of dues will result in suspension of membership 30 days after due date.
    3. Reinstatement of membership canceled because of non-payment of dues is made fifteen days after receiving all dues, bringing suspended member to current status.
  4. CLASSIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP
    1. PROFESSIONAL - any person meeting the qualifications for membership and in agreement with the activities and objectives.
    2. CORPORATE - any organization or company that has an interest in thermography.
    3. STUDENT - any student enrolled in an accredited college working toward a licensed health care degree or majoring in a field directly related to thermography.
    4. HONORARY - a person who has made a significant contribution to the field of thermography.
    5. TECHNICIAN
  5. VOTING AND MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES
    1.  Only members in current financial status classified as "Professional" have voting privileges.
    2. Full membership privileges are granted to a professional member.
    3. Membership privileges to corporate, student, and honorary classifications are determined by the Board.
    4. Certificate of membership and validation of proxy is the obligation of the membership committee.
    5. All members are required to attend a minimum of one 12-hour ITS seminar per year.

ARTICLE IV

EXISTENCE

This corporation shall be non-profit and have perpetual existence.

 


ARTICLE V

REVENUE

Dues, application fees, and other revenue assessments shall be decided by the Board.

 


ARTICLE VI

ANNUAL MEETING AND SEMINARS

The Board will establish an annual convention which will include a regular business meeting.

Seminars will be arranged by the Board to meet the needs and objectives of the I.T.S.

 


ARTICLE VII

CORPORATE AFFAIRS

  1. The affairs of the corporation are to be managed by the executive Board which shall consist of the President, President Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President, and the five (5) Board members elected at large, with the sixth (6th) member being a certified technician being appointed by the officers of the Board .
  2. Officers and Board members shall be reimbursed for all transportation expenses (coach airfare) including hotel and a per diem of $35.00.
  3. The President, President Elect, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected every two years. The Board shall be elected every three years.
  4. The qualification and duties of the officers shall be determined by the Executive Board.
  5. Forum members have all the privileges and benefits of the I.T.S.
  6. The qualifications and duties of the I.T.S. Board shall be determined by the Executive Board.

 

 


ARTICLE VIII

AMENDMENTS

The articles of Incorporation and By-Laws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the Executive Board.
